Summary
The Unicool T8 from the Titan Group, is one of the most popular scooters in the world that you’ve probably never heard of. The reason being that Titan is an OEM distributor, meaning that they are the producers of parts and assembled electric scooters that are branded and primarily sold by others. Some of the biggest international brands of the Unicool T8 are the Apollo Light, Fluid FreeRide Horizon, and Zero 8. Though all are built from the base Unicool T8, each brand has configured the scooter differently; each sells at different price points and with different warranty durations and features.
For shoppers who are looking at the Xiaomi Mi M365 or Segway Ninebot Max, the Unicool T8 will be an appealing option. Compared to these others scooters, it offers a higher top speed, similar range, better ride due to full suspension, and is more portable.

Unicool T8 Review
Performance

0 to 15 mph* | 4.9 s | 4.7 s | 4.9 s |
0 to 20 mph* | 8.2 s | 7.8 s | 8.4 s |
Top Speed* | 22.0 mph | 24.0 mph | 23.1 mph |

Hill Climb Time | 15.1 s | 15.1 s | 16.3 s |
Hill Climb Speed | 9.1 mph | 8.9 mph | 8.4 mph |
The Unicool T8 has good performance thanks to it’s 500 watt electric motor and battery capacity that ranges from 480 to 640 watt hours. Typical acceleration to 15 mph is under 5 seconds and its top speed exceeds 22 mph, leaving most shared scooters in the dust.
Overall, the T8 feels fairly quick and has good hill climbing ability. If you want something faster, you’ll need to step it up to models like the City, Touring, or Cruiser that have 600+ watt motors.
Build Quality

Overall, the Unicool T8 has good build quality and is made of many hefty metal parts. Depending on what variant you purchase, the retailer may have included more or fewer pre-shipment checks.
Fit-and-finish on all Unicool T8s that we’ve reviewed is very similar. We we generally categorize it as acceptable, but not as refined as a mass-produced product like the Xiaomi or Segway scooters. Unicool runs a large factory, but products are still mostly hand-assembled which tends to introduce more variation. We also think the design is not quite as refined as these other mass-produced scooters. However, mass-produced scooters like the Segway tend to have more plastic parts and not be quite as durable or user-serviceable as a scooter like the T8.
Ride Quality

All Titan/Unicool T8s come with front and rear spring suspension (we’ve noted that this is sometimes erroneously labeled as hydraulic) and a front pneumatic tire. These all help to cushion the ride, though the rear solid tire tends to transmit more vibration.
Despite the scooter being fairly small, the deck typically has about 18-inches by 6 inches of standing space. This should be comfortable for riders of various sizes.
Overall, the ride quality for all T8 variants we’ve tested is very similar and shouldn’t be a deciding factor if you are trying to choose between them.
Popular Unicool T8 Variants
Apollo Light

The Apollo Light is the least expensive T8, but the only one with an IP54 water-resistance rating, meaning it can be ridden in light rain. Compared to the others, it also has a smaller 490 Wh battery, meaning less range.

Fluid FreeRide Horizon

The Fluid FreeRide Horizon comes in in a stealthy all-black look and though it has the same-sized battery as the Zero 8, it is the proven range champion with 26 miles of ESG certified range for the 13 Ah version. The Horizon also comes in a 10 Ah version which will have less range but costs significantly less.

Zero 8

The Zero 8 is somewhat a balance of the Apollo Light and Horizon. It is more slighly expensive than the Light, however has longer range. However, compared to the Horizon, it has a longer warranty but slightly less range and slightly lower top speed.

Unicool T8 Features
The Unicool T8 has some basic features that are shared by all branded variants. These include:
- Single motor
- Drum brake
- Folding handlebars and stem
- Telescoping stem
- Front and rear spring suspension
- Front pneumatic and rear solid tire
All T8s weigh just over or just under 40 lbs. Their light weight, combined with three folding mechanisms, make this a very portable scooter and excellent commuting partner. The T8 has folded dimensions of roughly 39 inches by 7 inches by 15 inches.
Titan T8: Review Conclusions
The T8 is an appealing option for first-time buyers that want a relatively quick scooter that can handle hills and has good range. Its compact folded dimensions and ride quality beat out a lot of other scooters in its price class.
Titan Group also operates their own direct-to-consumer store (or for those looking to start their own retail operations) on Alibaba. The downside to purchasing directly from Titan is that you won’t receive the level of support that you will get from a local manufacturer. However, you will save a significant amount of money.
